Kordsa attended the Global Entrepreneurship Congress
Kordsa sponsored the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, among the most important summits of the global entrepreneurship ecosystem.
At the "The Fourth Industrial Revolution” panel, Kordsa shared with participants its global collaborations and technologies, which are reflection of its open innovation mindset.
Held in Istanbul this year and co-hosted by Endeavor Association, Habitat Association, TİM and TOBB the Global Entrepreneurship Congress was visited by nearly 10 thousand international participants from 170 countries. Kordsa sponsored the 3-days summit, which is considered as a major opportunity for the growth of Turkey's entrepreneurial ecosystem to strengthen the relationships with global players.
At the awards ceremony held on Monday, April 16th, the participants enjoyed the composite cello performance, reinforced and lightened by Kordsa technologies. Kordsa also sponsored the "The Future of Transportation and Space" workshop.
Kordsa Business and Market Development Director and Construction Business Unit Leader Murat Oğuz Arcan spoke in the Fourth Industrial Revolution panel, moderated by the futurist and writer Alex Salkever's, together with Amitabh Kant, CEO of India National Transportation Institute, Utku Barış Pazar, Koç Holding Strategy and Business Development Director, and Tanya Woods, an executive from GEN Canada
At the panel emphasizing that Kordsa had expanded its lines of business through investing in innovation and technology Arcan continued: "As a global player of reinforcement technologies operating in a wide geography from USA to Asia Pacific, we provide high value-added reinforcement solutions at our 8 facilities in 4 continents with a mission to reinforce life. Over the past decade, we have focused on research and development on the subjects of automation, data collection, data security andsensor technologies. Thanks to our strategic partnerships, we successfully implement sensor technologies at all our sites. We redefine the quality of production with our smart production systems and increase the speed of production with fewer mistakes. Our products and technologies enable us to touch every aspect of life, making it safer, and more robust with higher performance. We contribute to building stronger and safer buildings with our construction reinforcement technologies while improving the tire grip and reducing the rolling resistance in tire reinforcement technologies. We reduce fuel consumption lightening the vehicles with our composite technologies, Composites are regarded as the material of future considering that they are 5-6 times lighter and 7-8 times stronger, with a longer life cycle than steel. In the first year of our Composite Technologies Center of Excellence conjointly established by Kordsa and Sabancı University in 2016, we developed a technology that increases production speed in the field of automotive composites. At the Center, we strive to develop visual and structural parts to produce stronger and lighter vehicles. We are working with many institutions in different countries. We are involved in joint projects including system development, software and materials for the production of composite materials with 3D printer technology and the production of nano-enhanced composite repair materials to the aviation sector. Today, we reinforce 1 out of every 3 automobile tires and 2 out of every 3 aircraft tires in the world. We accelerated our work in composite technologies to become a strategic player in the aviation market as we are in automotive industry. With our composite technologies, we aim to reinforce the wings and hulls of the aircrafts that we reinforce their tires.”
Adding “As Kordsa, we continue our operations with an open innovation mindset to reinforce a wider area every day ,” Murat Oğuz Arcan invited entrepreneurial ecosystem players to open innovation through the Tesla example highlighting their environment-friendly adhesion technology, the very recent example of their open innovation approach.
